Doi ilish (hilsa in yogurt)

ingredients

1.hilsa fish( ilish maach) -3-4 pieces.

2. yogurt -1/2 cup.

3. mustard seeds -2 tbsp.

4. poppy seeds -1 tbsp.

5. Nigella seeds (kalo jira)-1/4 tsp.

6. turmeric powder -1 tsp.

7. salt -1 tsp .

8.green chillies slit -5-6 pieces .

9.mustard oil -4 tbsp......

Method

1. marinate hilsa fish with 1/2 tsp of turmeric powder and 1/2 tsp of salt.
2.in a mixer jar add mustard seeds poppy seeds salt (1/2 tsp) grind.
3. add yogurt.
4.turmeric powder( 1/2 tsp).
5.fresh green chillies 2.
6.grind again.
7.make a smooth paste.
8. keep  aside .rest for 10 minutes .
9.heat oil in a pan .
10.add fish pieces.
11.shallow fry on both side.
12. add nigella seeds.
13.turn heat on low add the yogurt mixture.
14. add little water.
15. add fresh chillies .
16.cook for 5 minutes with lid.
17. flip the fish pieces cook for another 5 minutes with lid.
18. doi ilish is ready.
19.serve with steamed rice.
