Patol Bahar:-

Ingredients:-

1.Pointed gourd -5 pieces.(cut into two pieces).

2.Potato -1 medium.(cut into square shape.

3.Yellow split gram (moong dal)-½ cup.(washed).

4.Ginger paste -1 tsp.

5.Tomato -1 (chopped).

6.Green chili -2(slit).

7.Salt -1 tsp.

8.Turmeric powder -½ tsp.

9.Asafoetida 1/4 tsp.

10.Cumin seeds 1/4 tsp.

11.Dried red chilli-1.

12.Indian bay leaves(tejpata)-1.

13.Sugar -1/4 tsp.

14.Mustard oil -6 tbsp.

15.Garam masala -½ tsp.

16.Water -3 cup.

Method:-

1.Heat oil in a pan.

2.Fry the pointed gourds carefully.

3.Add turmeric powder.

4.Keep aside.

5.Fry potato pieces.

6.Add turmeric powder.

7.keep aside.

8.Temper the same oil with asafoetida(hing).

9.Cumin seeds,dried Red chili and Bay leaves.

 10.Add Yellow split gram(Muger dal)fry for 3 minutes on low flame.

11.Add chopped tomato and green chilies.

12.Mix fried potato and pointed gourd.

13.Add ginger paste & salt.

14.Add turmeric powder.

15.Cook for 3 minutes.

16.Add 3 cups of water. 

17.Cook for 10 minutes with cover on medium to low flame.

18.Mix sugar.

19.Cook for another two minutes.

20.Mix garam masala powder.

 

21.Serve hot with plain rice or roti.
