Doi Katla / দই কাতলা / Doi Mach / Traditional fish curry recipe
Ingredients:--
1.katla fish -4 pieces.
2.Onion paste -1/2 cup.
3.Ginger paste -1 tbsp.
4.Garlic paste -1 tbsp.
5.Poppy seeds paste -2 tbsp.
6.Cashew paste -2 tbsp.
7.Curd -2 tbsp.
8.Gram flour -1 tsp.
9.Green chilies (chopped) -4 pieces.
10.Rice bran oil -1/2 cup.
11.Garam Masala powder -1/2 tsp.
12.Salt- as required.
13.Sugar -1/2 tsp (optional).
14.Water -1 cup.
Dry spices-
15.Cardamom -2 pieces.
16.Cloves -2 pieces.
17.Cinnamon stick(Dalchini) -1 inch.
18.Bay leaf -1 big.
19.Dry Red Chilies -2.
Method:-
1.Rub 1/2 tsp of salt to the fish pieces.leaves for 3 minutes.
2.Heat 4 tbsp of oil in a Wok.
3.Fry the fish pieces(Both side) on medium flame.
4.Place in a plate.Keep aside.
5.Add 2 tbsp of oil in same pan.
6.Fry cardamoms,cloves,cinnamon stick,bay leaf, dry Red Chilies.
7.Add onion paste.cook for 2 minutes on low flame.
8.Add garlic paste.cook for 1 minute.
9.Add ginger paste.Mix well.
10.Add poppy seed paste and cashew paste.Cook for 2 minutes on medium flame.
11.Mix curd and Gram flour.
12.Add it in the wok.cook for 1 minute.
13.Add chopped Chilies.
14.Add 1 cup of water.
15.Add 1 tsp of salt & 1/2 tsp of sugar.cook for 2 minutes on high flame.
16.Add fried fish pieces.cook for 3 - 5 minutes with lid.
17.Remove lid.
18.Add garam masala powder.
19.Serve with hot plain rice,fried rice & pulao.
