Kochushak Ghanto/Bengali kochu recipe/কচুশাক ঘন্ট

Ingredients:-

1) Taro greens (কচুডাঁটা) - 300 gm.

2) Chickpea (ছোলা) - 100 gm.

3) Mustard oil (সরষের তেল ) - 4 tbsp.

4) Foron--

                 i) Bay leaf (তেজ পাতা) -2 pics.

                ii) Dried red chili (শুকনো লঙ্কা) - 1 piece.

               iii) Cumin seeds (জিরে ) - 1/2 Tsp.

5) Sugar (চিনি) - 4 Tsp.

6) Cumin powder (জিরে গুঁড়ো) - 1 Tsp.

7) Turmeric powder (হলুদ) - 1 Tsp.

8) Salt (লবন) - 1 Tsp.

9) Green chili (কাঁচা লঙ্কা) - 8 pics.

10) Ginger paste(আদা বাটা) - 1 Tsp.



METHOD-----


 1) Soak chickpeas over night or 10 to 12 hours.

 

2) Taro greens need to be cut into 2-inch pieces after removing the outer layer.Wash it and boil for 10 minutes.Then take the kochushak.

2) Heat oil in a pan.

3) Add bay leaves,  dried red chili and cumin seeds for Foron.Fry it becomes brownish.

4) Add kochushak and stir well.

5) Add turmeric powder, salt, cumin powder, green chilies, ginger paste and soaked chickpeas.

6)Mix all ingredients properly and cover the pan for 10 minutes.

7) After 10 minutes remove the lead.cook it for 15 minutes in high flame.

8) Add sugar.

9) cook for 4-5 minutes and remove from fire.

10)Kochushak ganto is ready.Serve with steamed rice.
