PHOOLKOPIR POLAO / CAULIFLOWER RICE/VEG PULAO:


CAULIFLOWER RICE recipe with step by step photos/video.

Veg pulao recipes are very common in many Indian households.Veg pulao with cauliflower is my grand mothers recipe.I make the recipe when I want to cook something quick and easy.  

Ingredients:

1.Cauliflower florets 12-14 pieces (big).
2.Gobindobhog rice/Basmati rice (or any fragrant rice)-400 gram.
3.Ghee-2 tsp.
4.Oil-6 tbsp.
5.Peas -1/2 cup.
6.Ginger paste -1 tsp.
7.Green chilies -2 pieces.
8.Turmeric powder -2 tsp.
9.Salt -as required.
10.Water (warm)7-8 cups.
11.Raisins -1/2 cup.
12.Sugar -4 tbsp.
Dry spices
13.Bay leaf- 3-4 pieces.
14.Green cardamoms 2-3 pieces.
15.Cloves - 2-3 pieces.
16.Cinnamon sticks -2 inch.
 

Method:

 1.Wash rice a few times until water runs clear.Drain off the water.

2.Marinate the rice with 1 tsp of turmeric powder,1 tsp of salt and 1 tsp of ginger paste.Keep aside for 30 minutes.

3.Heat 4 tbsp of oil in a pan.

 4.Fry the cauliflower florets with Pinch of turmeric powder( if you want,steam the cauliflower florets at first ).  

5.Heat 2 tbsp of oil and 1 tsp of ghee together.

6.Bay leaves,green cardamoms,cloves,cinnamon sticks lightly.


7.Saute raisins for a minute on low flame.

8.Add marinated rice.Fry on medium flame for 5-8 minutes.

9.Add warm water approx 7-8 cups.

10.Add green chilies & peas .

 11.Add cauliflower florets.

12.Cook for 10 minutes with lid on low flame.

13.Add sugar.Mix well. 

14.Mix garam masala powder and 1 tsp of ghee.

 15.Serve the recipe with veg /Non veg dishes (special chicken curry recipe,dim Posto recipe,aloo matar paneer recipe dry chili chicken recipe).
